Bryan is Jay's Australian uncle who is letting Jay stay in his garden in The Inbetweeners 2.

Bryan is Terry Cartwright's cousin and Jay Cartwright's uncle. Like Jay's father Terry, he is extremely abusive towards Jay, perhaps even more than his father as Bryan goes as far as preventing Jay from sleeping in his house and instead makes him sleep in his garden, in a tent. He also proves to Will, Simon and Neil that his strong claims are lies, such as informing Neil that he had no form of sexual activity will being in Australia. Jay appears to find Bryan more abusive to him than his father.

After Terry discovers that Jay came to Australia to find Jane and almost "died" in the Birdsville desert, he flies over. Terry begins to abuse Jay along with Bryan. Bryan starts mocking Jay about Jane's weight, which Jay responds to by slapping him, albeit doesn't hurt. Surprisingly, Bryan begins to complement Jay for trying and also begins to stick up for him by accusing Terry of teaching him "how to fight like a girl". This instigates a fight between Terry and Bryan.

Bryan doesn't seem to understand how romances and relationships work. He seems to just think about the good looks on women and not about their personalities. For an example, like when Simon was going to break up with Lucy, through Skype, Bryan got full attention heading over to the computer to see how she looks like. Bryan then finds her really gorgeous and tells Simon that he must stay in a relationship with her, and the Skype conversation with Lucy ends up with the two are engaged, all because of Bryan.

Bryan is very thin, but has a fat belly. He lives in a house in Australia. He has or gets no women himself, unlike Terry who found Mrs. Cartwright and Jay who found both Chloe and Jane.
